I have to say I have loved planners for a number of years. So when I had the opportunity to review this set, I found myself almost giddy with excitement. With all that occurred during 2020, I find myself almost looking forward to 2021 with anticipation. This set includes a planner, 4 pens, a case, stickers, a notepad, tote bag and more.

I love the pouch, the pens, and the notepad. However, I wish the stickers could fit into the pouch. However, the tote bag provides plenty of space for everything. With the tote bag, my one desire would be longer straps. The straps are only long enough to hold by the hand and not sit on my shoulder. I like the point on the pens, however the yellow provides very little brightness. I think it suits as a circling things as a highlighter more than a writing tool.

The planner itself comes with a faux leather cover available in shades of grapefruit pink, slate gray, and coconut brown. I had a hard time deciding between the gray and the pink. However, pink won in the end. One of my favorite parts about this planner arises from no coil. This planner is book bound rather than spiral bound, so I do not have to worry about the spiral coil getting in the way or impeding my writing. However, it does not lay as flat as I would like. I love having stickers to personalize the planner with as well.

It comes with features including monthly calendars, weekly spreads, an attached bookmark. space to create a vision board, pages for notes, and more. It definitely provides the key features I am looking for in a planner. It is big enough to provide space, while being thin enough to not be bulky. I love having a coordination tote bag to carry everything in as well.

All things considered, I have to say I am looking forward to using this planner in 2021. So if you are looking for a planner set, check out this set for yourself.

Review and Giveaway for Generation to Generation

ABOUT THE BOOK:

Faith remains one of the greatest gift we can pass on to our children and grandchildren. This is known as l’dor v’dor in Judaism meaning, “from generation to generation,” and expresses how faith passes down from one generation to the next through the holy observances and traditions that happen within the life of the family.

Yael Eckstein explores the lessons of faith instilled in her by her parents in Generation to Generation. This faith allowed her to persevere after the sudden death of her father Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein. It also provided the hope and courage she needed in order to follow in his footsteps as the President and CEO of The Fellowship.

Generation to Generation examines the holy observances and traditions while revealing the key values each one reinforces. Now Yael Eckstein and her husband pass on theese values to their four children, which will in turn allow the reader to pass on a strong, living faith to your children and grandchildren.

For many years, I have followed the blog and ministry of The Fellowship. As a born-again Christian, I recognize the importance of the values of the Jewish faith, so I gratefully accepted the opportunity to read this book.

As I began reading, I found myself pulled into the pages. As the mother of four – three sons in their 20s and a daughter who is almost 18, I recognize the importance of passing our faith down through the generations.

I appreciate Yael Eckstein’s ability to share her family’s traditions, observances, and more through the pages of this book. Each chapter includes Jewish observances, how their family incorporate those teachings in their family, how the observances relates to Christians and questions and stories to discuss with your family. It presents a selection of Bible verses which emphasize a key value. The book remains a tribute to Yael Eckstein’s father. The connection between the Jewish faith and Christianity remains indisputable. This book draws connections between the two faiths while illustrating how to build relationships with faith that span generations.

Truly, this book is one worth reading and sharing with those around you. So check it out for yourself. I received a copy of this book from Frontgate Bloggers to review. All opinions in this review are my own.

ABOUT The Internation Fellowship of Christians:

The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews was founded in 1983 by Orthodox Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, whose vision for building bridges of understanding and cooperation between Christians and Jews has been translated into the largest Christian-supported humanitarian agency helping Jews in Israel and around the world. You can learn more about the organization and Rabbi Eckstein here.

For more than 2,000 years, the Jewish people have preserved and maintained their faith from generation to generation, despite being exiled from their land and suffering persecutions, pogroms, and even the Holocaust, where six million Jewish women, men, and children were killed at the hands of the Nazis. In her book, Generation to Generation, Fellowship President and CEO Yael Eckstein unlocks the keys to how the Jewish people have successfully passed on the legacy of faith through the family,  and offers insights into how Christians can incorporate these principles within their own families to pass on a strong and living faith.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

The author, Yael Eckstein, is President and CEO of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, the largest provider of humanitarian aid in Israel.  You can find more info about her on the book site, www.generationbook.org

Author and speaker Carrie Stephens has a message our hearts need to hear.  We are so much more than just a plate of rice and beans.  We are holy guacamole that has been crafted with great skill and flair by God who is the Master Creator.

Generously seasoned with humor and empathy, this book includes stories that tell of triumph, failure, heartbreak, and redemption. Holy Guacamole allows our hearts to connect to the unfailing power of God’s call for us to live a life that is full of His Love for us and for the world we live in today.

Quite a few years ago, I discovered I loved guacamole, but only if it had chunks of avocados, bell peppers, onions, and tomatoes.  As a result, I began crafting and creating homemade guacamole.  My husband will only eat my guacamole in fact.  I love taking the time to prepare this condiment for our Mexican meals.  So when I saw this book, I knew I had to read it, and it did not disappoint.

We have an undeniable worth since God has created us in His Image.  With chapters that have titles such as “From the Well to the Ice Maker”, “Sit Down Deborah”, “Pretty Things and Their Ugly Cousins at Home”, among others, this book captured my attention just with the titles.  I had to read more to find out what the chapter titles had to do with God and my relationship with Him

80814666_582451532339409_2227072472480413388_n

It helped remind me that I should only be looking to God for validation of who I am and what I am worth. This book will challenge you and cause you to look at your life and the value you put on it.

So if you are looking for a book that will show how incredibly valuable we are to God.  So check out this book for yourself.

Combining Biblical wisdom, laughter, and personal experience, this book has a lot to offer.  I found myself laughing quite a bit while reading.  Biblical insights played a critical role in my reading.  I felt connected to what I was reading and definitely recommend this book. The Book consistently leads back to God’s grace, mercy, and love.

Covering topics such as restoration, playing, speaking, failing, humbled, listening, breaking, forgiving, being a mess, and laughter, I could relate to some portion of each of the chapters if not all.  We need to elect to have faith rather than giving in to our own fears.

So if you are going through trials or difficulties or just want a book to make you laugh and see God’s love, check out this book for yourself.

Review and Giveaway for Operation Blesssing’s Recipes from Around the World

about_header

As a homeschooling mother, I am always on the lookout for interesting cookbooks to utilize in our home.  “Recipes from Around the World” provides just such an experience.  This soft-covered cookbook includes 34 different recipes from around the world.

CookBook

With recipes from around the world including from Asia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Israel, Kenya, Mexico, Peru, and the United States, this little book offers a large variety of choices.

Some of the recipes had familiar names such as Swiss Steak, Enchiladas, plus Rice and Beans.  Other recipes were not at all familiar to me, such as Gado Gado from Asia, Shashuka from Israel, and Loma Saltada.  Yet, they inspired me to learn more about the recipes as well as the countries they are from too.

In addition to the recipes, each country has an introduction with information such as about Operation Blessing building a well for clean drinking and cooking water in the Nuu’s village.  Nuu is an elderly woman who needed safe water in order to live.

Operation Blessing strives to improve the conditions of people around the world.  The proceeds from this cookbook will help achieve that goal.  They do everything from disaster relief to clean water.

So if you are looking for an interesting cookbook that offers the opportunity to help those less fortunate across the globe, check out this cookbook for yourself.  You can get your own copy of this cookbook here for a donation of any size.

Also, you have the opportunity to get free recipe cards.  They are pleased to offer four (4) recipe cards inspired by international recipes from Operation Blessing’s latest cookbook, “Recipes From Around the World.” Anyone can sign up to receive this free gift after which, requests will be processed and delivered straight to their mailbox. by clicking here.

As a girl growing up, I can remember a lot about my paternal grandfather.  I remember as a little girl how he would take my sister and I to the boardwalk in Wildwood, NJ.  At the same time, I also remember how when I grew up, he used to keep a little black book of all the wrongs anyone did to him.  It made him so angry and unforgiving.  I have to wonder if he had offered forgiveness instead of holding onto the anger how it may have changed his life.

Off the Hook offers words of wisdom that everyone can benefit from reading. It has the ability to change your life, heart, and mind about the realities of forgiveness. The exercises in this book will allow you to find freedom.  Forgiveness allows us to take those who have hurt us off our hook and instead hand them over to God.  Being held captive by the bonds of unforgiveness has devastating consequences.  We need to reach out to God and turn the ones who transgress against us over to them.  This book has such a necessary and powerful message.

Truly this book is one worth reading.  I definitely feel blessed to have read it and participated in this review.  So check it out for yourself.

Randy Southern’s book 52 Uncommon Family Adventures presents a wealth of ideas for getting family away from their computer screens in order to have fun as a family.  This book gives creative ways to enjoy spending time together in ways that create memories.

Some of the ideas of the presented include a Volunteer Day, Mirror Games, Switching Rooms and more.  Each adventure includes a section with directions for getting ready along with directions for the actual adventure time as well as Family Devotions and the Love Language of the Day.

The directions for getting ready will allow families to be sure they have the necessary items to complete the given activity.  The variety of activities allows families to select something they can do regardless of the preparation time available.  I see this being the perfect thing to print out or write out the adventures and throw them into a jar and then let children select the adventure a few days in advance.  Doing this will allow the parents to secure any necessary items needed or make decisions about what location to use.   Adventures like a good old-fashioned pillow fight require no money and very little preparation.  On the other hand, doing the lip-sync video may require more preparation. For the “Something Borrowed” adventure, preparation is needed to allow times to borrow items from family or friends.

The Family Devotion Section includes a passage of Scripture to reference along with ideas of what to talk about regarding the passage.  One thing I really like about this section is how only the passage reference is given.  Families then are able to use whatever Bible translation they are familiar and comfortable with personally.

The Love Language of the Day provides a glimpse into what type of person with the given primary love language who will benefit from the activity. So for example, some people prefer words of affirmation to let them know they are loved.  Other people need to receive gifts in order to see they are loved.  Still, others need to spend quality time together in order to know they are loved.  So with a variety of activities in the book, families can pick and choose activities that address the variety of love languages.

Personally, I feel this is an excellent book for families who are looking for creative ways to spend time together in order to make lasting and meaningful memories.

But don’t just take my word for it, have a look yourself at just how easy,  FUN, and helpful this book is:  click here to see for yourself.
