A New Beginning

img_1026

It is a new year with all the new possibilities and opportunities that go with that.  It is a matter of new activities to participate in for 2018.  My husband, daughter, and oldest son have begun participating in the Strings program associated with our homeschool band.  They had their first lesson on Monday.  My husband and daughter are playing the violin, while our son is playing the cello.

Then this summer the plan is for my youngest son to begin lessons for the viola while I begin to take lessons for the violin.  It was fun seeing our daughter be part of a music program.

In a Facebook group, I am part of, the person in charge asked about what instruments we had in our home.  We have 4 guitars, 2 violins, a cello, an alto saxophone, a trumpet, a baritone horn, a trombone (which is borrowed), a flute, a clarinet, a keyboard and a french horn. Our home is accumulating a large amount of musical knowledge and interest.

On the other hand, sometimes a new year, bring unwanted change or experiences. From Christmas Eve until now we have had some members of our family sick.  Most of the time more than one family member have had it at a time.  It is no fun.  I am ready for everyone to be well. Also in our case, we are facing the prospect of finding a place and moving in less than 30 days.  It was 30 days, but a couple of days have already passed.

On a lighter and more positive note, our daughter has been doing some new artwork, including two pieces requested by someone else.

Here are some samples of her recent work.

I am in prayer the new year brings better things for our family as the year progresses.

So what is going on in your wold for the new year?  I would love to hear from you.

Plans for 2016

Psalm 37 4

With 2016, comes 366 days of brand new possibilities.  But for our family, it not only brings the normal types of changes but the change of a cross-country move.  We are going to a part of the country I have never been before – not even to visit.  So it is going to be all new to me.

So with this impending change, decisions have to be made.  Some of those decisions involve when we will resume school.  In theory, we could be in the process of moving in less than 30 days.  At the same time, we could be looking at almost 60 days.  If we have only 30 days, we will probably choose to wait until after we move to resume school.  If it is more like 60 days, we will choose to resume school next week.

With a new year, we need to figure out what changes we need to introduce in our homeschool.  With a new area, we will have new possibilities for outside activities.  I am excited to see what new adventures lie ahead.

What is going on in your life today?  I would love tp hear from you.

New Beginnings

Psalm 51 10 for 2016

So a new year is under way.  This means we will be resuming school shortly.  In just two days, the learning will start in our home.  But it may quickly be interrupted by cleaning and preparing for packers and movers to come to our home.  The anticipation of waiting is getting old now.  I am ready to begin this new stage of our life.

Because I know where we are going, I joined an email group for the place we will moving to earlier this week.  Yesterday, I received several emails regarding activities and possible friends for our children.  The local homeschool group has an amazing variety of items to choose from and I think my children are really excited.  From an Archery club to involvement with Habitat for Humanity to Golf lessons to dance to art to music to singing and even drama, the possibilities are endless.  We also began searching online for a church and already have several possibilities to check out.

So what is going on where you are?

2016 is Fast Approaching

2016

Christmas is over and we are on our way to a new year.  This means it is time for me to begin setting up my new planner for the new year.  This year I am using 2 new planners. One is the Corie Clark Daily Planner and the other is the Living Well planner.  I am excited about both of these planners.  Here are some pictures of the cover and inside of the  Corie Clark planner.
