I can not begin to imagine the pain and heartache that would come from that kind of loss. Piper is strong yet she needs someone to walk alongside her. At the same time, Ezra finds himself caught up looking after Piper, his best friend’s sister.
This book illustrates how even times of utter despair, someone can reach out to God for answers. Even when we feel the farthest from God, we can still talk to Him and desire answers. I expect a book set during the holiday season to be filled with lightness and happiness instead of death, nightmares, violence, and loneliness. But this book pulled me into the story.
