Having been married to my husband for 27 years I cannot fathom losing not just one husband to death but two.  Yet I have witness people in my life marry for a second time after being deeply in love with their first spouse and then marrying for the second time and being deeply in love with that person as well.  This book is written as a love story diary.  It tells the story of Shirley, a Christian, who deeply loved her first husband who died after 40 years of marriage and six months of a debilitating illness.
Then Shirley finds love for a second time and winds up with two years of joy and more heartache of losing a second spouse.  While some may not like the diary-like nature of this book, I found it worth reading.  Shirley’s story illustrates the power of prayer and God’s love.  The turnaround I read about in Bill, her first husband, brought me to tears of joy.  Bill discovered the love and salvation of Jesus Christ.
Shirley had amazing people to walk the journey of grief and loss with her.  She shows through the pages of the book how much she loved both men as well her children (biological, step and through marriage).
So if you like reading diary-style books that tell a true story of love, mercy, grief, and second chances, check out this book for yourself.
I received a copy of this book for my fair and honest review.

More from Shirley

They told me there was no hope. How could that be? I’d already lost one husband. Would I have to lose another? We’d had so little time!

Four years earlier—nearly to the day—my high school sweetheart and father of my two children had died. We’d gone through so many struggles. Our marriage was nearly broken. Through courage in facing our faults and selfishness, our marriage was restored. And then, after a six month battle with a terrible virus, my husband died.

I’d never dreamed I’d love again, but it happened. Sx months after our first date, we were married.  It seemed like we were still on our honeymoon when the next tragedy happened. Just like that, he was gone.

And then I knew the story needed to be told. For myself. For my children. For anyone who wanted to know. It’s a story of second chances in a restored marriage. In love. In hope for the future and God’s sustaining love and comfort. A story to strengthen your own soul.

The Glittering Web FB Banner About the Book

Book: The Glittering Web

Author: Richard & Linda Nathan

Genre: Christian fiction/futuristic

Release Date: July 1, 2019

The Glittering Web - Cover FrontWhat if everything you thought was true and good — wasn’t?

Stripping away years of deception doesn’t come easily—especially to Loren and Eve Montcrest. They believe they’re following the true path as initiates in Seattle’s Arcane Institute, their society’s elite training academy for the New World Order in 2050.

Pursuing spiritual power despite enormous dangers, they are caught up in a fiery, fast-paced succession of intrigues and adventure that rocks their love for each other and even their sanity.

Only a shocking, last-minute intervention can strip away the veil of deception and rescue them from
destruction—but will they give up everything for it?

When I signed up for this blog tour, I was not exactly sure what to expect.  Once I began reading, I found the book to include too many New Age ideas and storylines.  With Satanic cults and other factions that cause Loren and Eve Montcrest to stray deeper into the dark side of life, I found myself frequently putting the book down.  The one highlight in the story is a man who recognizes the dangers facing Loren and Eve in the institute and who prays for their protection.

Set in the year 2050, many questions and ideas posed in the story cause me concern.  The details about their foray into the institute made me question the storyline.  With Eve and Loren being essentially controlled by dark beings, I feared for their lives, their souls and their sanity.

I recommend reading this book with a grain of concern and frequent breaks.

I received a copy of this book for my fair and honest review.

More from Richard and Linda

What if everything you thought was true and good—wasn’t?

That’s what we painfully learned from our years in the New Age / psychedelic movement in the San Francisco Bay Area during the ’60s and ’70s–years in which we almost lost our sanity, our souls, and our lives.

Like our characters Loren and Eve who are initiates in Seattle’s Arcane Institute in the year 2050, we pursued spiritual power into a glittering web of dangers and deceptions.

Although true to our own inner trials and temptations, The Glittering Web is a fast-paced thriller and sci-fi fantasy with a life of its own, an evangelistic thrust, and a call to Christians to wake up to this huge mission field all around us where today a New Age practitioner is running for President. As it exposes the deceitfulness of this popular movement, it also glorifies the great love and power of Jesus Christ to reach the lost.

Fatal Memories kept me on the edge of my seat from the time I began reading.  With her memory missing Joss Walker, a Border patrol agent,  finds herself in danger.  Dylan Murphy is the agent trying to find out what Joss knows.  Initially, Dylan believes Joss is guilty because she was found in a collapsed tunnel with illegal drugs.  But there is much more to this story.

I wanted Joss and Dylan to see God had a special purpose for their lives.  I also wanted Joss to regain her memory.  With the memory loss, she does not know if she is the person her coworkers believe her to be.

Wtih what appears to be too man coincidences, Joss finds herself constantly in danger.  Dylan finds himself falling more and more for her as he tries to protect her life.

So check this book out for yourself.

About the Author

Tanya StoweTanya Stowe is a Christian Fiction author with an unexpected edge. She is married to the love of her life, her high school sweetheart. They have four children and twenty-one grandchildren, a true adventure. She fills her books with the unusual…mysteries and exotic travel, even a murder or two. No matter where Tanya takes you…on a trip to foreign lands or a suspenseful journey packed with danger…be prepared for the extraordinary.

More from Tanya

It has long been my husband’s desire to travel the country in a motorhome. So when he retired three years ago, we sold our home and hit the road. We lived in the high desert region of Southern California for almost 37 years. I thought it was going to be a rough transition, but it wasn’t…especially since I came to love one of our new locations.

We spend the winter months in southern Arizona where Fatal Memories is set. I love everything about this unique place. We are surrounded by incredible ecosystems…the Sonoran and Chihuahua deserts collide there, so a different environment is around every corner. The beauty of the mountains, streams and lakes (yes, there’s water in southern Arizona—monsoons come up from Baja every summer) and the wildlife is amazing. I’ve been told black panthers have been known to cross the border from Mexico and roam the countryside. My husband and I bought a Jeep so we could go off-roading to see these sites up close and personal.

In addition to all these amazing natural wonders, history jumps out and grabs me. I’m just twenty minutes from Tombstone. Fort Huachuca and Fort Bowie are forty miles away in different directions. Every time I turn around, there’s a history making site or event to grab my interest. I hope you can see why I fell in love with my new home. I hope you will too when you read Fatal Memories.

By the way…if you interested, I write about our travels in my monthly newsletter. Be sure to check it out!
