SAME

Welcome to my next installment for my 31 Days of Five Minute Free Writing Prompts.  Today’s word is “same”.  As a homeschooling family, the word same can conjure up a lot of things in my mind.

For example, when we first began our homeschooling journey, I did not want our homeschooling days to look the same as public school classrooms.  So I tried to mix things up a little.  We homeschooled while sitting on the sofa.  We homeschooled in the van.  One time we even did some homeschool in a hotel at a Universal Studio resort hotel in Florida because Dad had to be there for an army conference.

Another picture that comes to mind when I hear the word “same” is that the same materials do not work for all children equally.  What worked for my oldest son did not necessarily work for my other children.  Or what did not work for him wound up working fine for one or more of our other children.

Finally, I can realistically expect my children to do the same things that other students do.  Every one of us is different.  The only thing that is the same for all of us is God’s amazing love for us.  He sent His Only Begotten Son to die on the Cross for all of our sins.

So what comes to mind when you hear the word “same”?  I would love to hear from you.
